The Superlift High Clearance Dual Steering Stabilizer Kit includes dual Superlift SS cylinders, plus hardware to relocate the cylinders in-line, and above the tie rod, to provide improved protection from rocks and other hazards.
Each cylinder's seamless, extruded monotube body contains a patented piston design, and a high-pressure gas charge to quickly dissipate heat and virtually eliminate fade. Cylinder valving is tailored to meet the demands of heavier tires/wheels and aggressive terrain.
Cylinders feature a brushed, silver Zinc finish, and include a black dust boot. Note that Superide shock boots will not fit Superlift SS cylinders.
A steering stabilizer is basically a shock absorber for your steering system. It allows unrestricted gradual movement but resists sudden shock. Stabilizers also combat other forces that induce tire shimmy, such as larger/heavier tires and wheels and slack in your suspension and steering systems that occur from normal wear.
Most vehicles are factory equipped with a stabilizer, yet like most factory shock absorbers, they are barely adequate and have a limited service life. Look for signs of oil leakage where the shaft meets the cylinder body.
Steering stabilizers are designed to restrain "bump steer" and front end vibration, giving added life to tires, ball joints, and other steering components.
At the heart of this new system is a pair of heavy duty tubular upper control arms (UCAs) designed for improved strength and suspension travel. These new control arms are built from thick wall 1.5" DOM tubing, and use an indexed ball joint cup to reposition the upper ball joints to allow more droop travel. These arms come fully assembled right out of the box with high quality greaseable ball joints and rubber bushings for long life, quiet operation and superior corrosion resistance over uniballs and heims. Along with the control arms, a pair of indexed cast steel torsion bar keys are supplied up front to lift vehicle. Through a collaborative effort between BDS Suspension and Fox Racing, BDS now offers this 4-6" Dodge 1500 4WD suspension system featuring Fox 2.5" coil-over remote reservoir shocks. This system has been rigorously tested to maximize travel and performance on and off the pavement.
This lift kit is based around two one-piece, 1/4" laser cut high-clearance crossmembers and replacement steering knuckles. The high-clearance crossmembers increase ground clearance for off road performance and on road appeal.
The replacement steering knuckles make for a clean installation as well as maintain proper steering angles and ball joint angles. A differential skid plate is included for off road protection.
The system also includes bump stop drops, anti-sway bar links, 3 point differential drop system, strut relocation brackets, and front stainless steel brake lines.
Nothing complements this BDS Suspension better than the race proven design of Fox 2.5" remote reservoir coil-over front shocks. These have been specifically engineered to fit the BDS Suspension system and feature an external reservoir for increased oil cooling capacity and nitrogen volume for a more consistent and comfortable ride. These have also been pre-set by BDS to 6" of lift for an easy installation, but can be adjusted down to 4" or fined tuned anywhere in between to your liking.
BDS allows you to customize your desired stance by offering 2" rear coil spacers or 3" and 5" Pro-Ride coils that are capable of being smashed totally flat and will come back to normal ride height. The rear for this Dodge Ram lift kit is completed with a track bar bracket, upper link relocation brackets, and sway bar links.
